Kevin's View
Today was the day for me to get my shots! Six weeks today until I head for Kenya!!! I had done my first two shots of TwinRix (Hep A&B) back in 2010 before my trip to Nicaragua. Because I didn't do the third, I thought I would have to start over. Fortunately, that was not the case. I also had my Typhoid and Tetanus (ouch that one hurt for days) updated. I also got my yellow fever shot for the first time. Apparently, it's good for 10 years on paper but it been proven good for life. Governments are just going through the process to get that acknowledged internationally. While in the waiting room afterward (you need to wait to see if there are any adverse reactions), I was treated to this view. |
Hillary's View
Nick and Lynne were in Korr for about a week, the first they've been here since I've been back. They invited Steve, the other short termer, and I over for dinner on Friday night - more real meat and cold things! It was amazing! - and we certainly feasted. It was a happy throwback, too, to when I lived with them five years ago. I SO respect and admire these people. They have given so much over the years, and the impact God has made through them among the Rendille people is immeasurable. They have been in Korr for 35 years, and are getting ready to retire and move back to South Africa this January. Please pray for them as they continue to work on finishing up the translation work for the Rendille New Testament and as they pack up 35 years of life as they prepare to leave. |
