The oven and stove we have is a little... interesting. There's no knob for the oven, so we just take off a burner knob and use that, which means there's no way of knowing what temperature it's set to. Even if we did, I'm not convinced it would be right. So, if there's heat, I figure I can bake. It'll take a little trial and error (hopefully more trial, less error!). After nearly a month with no bread-y anything, I REALLY wanted bread. These biscuits are a triumph! Take one last night took just under an hour to bake (um, biscuits should take 15 minutes!) but this was take two - and they only took a half an hour cause I think I figured out how to get the oven a little hotter! Bonus! And they turned out pretty good, too! Warm biscuits and fancy jam for lunch today made me very happy! It's the little things! ;) Saturday's project? Cinnamon buns. I'll keep ya posted! |
