Kevin's View
Since last Friday was all meat night, I decided to make tonight meal all veggies... Fresh Taber corn, tomotoes and cucumbers from Dad's garden and some toast. I guess it wasn't all vegetables.
Hillary's View
We have an old (broken) exercise bike in the back yard. I don't know where it came from, but it's popular with the local kids who come over sometimes.  They sit on it, crowd around it, pretend to pedal it... so while there haven't been kids around that I've seen lately, I was horrified to find the bike covered with drips of dried blood - all over the shaft and the wheel/belt cover, and all over the base.  Had kids come into the yard while I was out and sliced themselves somehow?

I looked around for where they might have cut themselves, but couldn't find anything.  Still, I wondered where all this blood had come from, and was fretting about some child somewhere with a gash and wondered if they were getting it treated, and if it would get infected.

Laura, one of the full time missionaries who lives here - stopped by for something else, and I showed her the bike and told her how worried I was about whoever had cut themselves on this bike, when she pointed out the tree above.
Apparently, acacia trees have bright red sap.

The wind I think tore a branch partly off at some point, and it was the tree, not a child, that had been 'bleeding' all over the bike. Phew!

Oh, the things you learn in a day...
