Kevin's View
Dad and I were out geocaching before breakfast this morning when we heard this strange sound behind us. Turns out it was a grouse (not sure what kind yet, will attempt to identify when I'm back home) that was sitting about five feet from the cache. It didn't move the whole time we were there. This shot is at 70 mm and was not cropped! I was probably two feet away to get this shot. Fortunately, the momma bear I encountered later with her two cubs were further away. The downside to saving my own hide, not getting pictures to tell the tale. ;) |
Hillary's View
Driving anywhere, there is always lots to see out the window. The Entebbe airport is about an hour out of Kampala, so today I enjoyed trying to capture some of the massive variety of shops all along the way. Dresses, mattresses, fruit stands, furniture makers, handicrafts, stoneworks, wrought iron workshops, men with motorbikes waiting to give rides, people napping on the grass - from poles and corrugated metal to maize fields, swanky multi-level shopping centers to fields of plantain trees (and often all side by side)... you name it, and you'll find it! |
