Kevin's View
I have never had much luck with getting a good shot of a bird in flight. Until today. I am so happy with this shot. While we were on our boat safari, we saw dozens of different bird species and this heron was one of them. Mostly they were in the water, in a tree or otherwise mainly motionless. Our boat scared this one up though and it circled around, ending up being well lit just when I needed it. Just one small sample of the amazing day we had.
Hillary's View
Between a boat safari on Lake Naivasha in the morning, a short hike to the rim of Crater Lake, and a walk and a drive in the Crater Lake game sanctuary today, we saw SO many animals.  It was the day of the giraffe for sure - we saw dozens, but one of my favourite photos from the boat this morning was Mr Hidey Hippo lurking in the leaves near the shore of Lake Naivasha.  He rose up out of the water just as we looked over and took a swath of greenery with him!
