Kevin's View
As hard as it is for Hillary to find the right words today for her experience, I feel a guilt or shame for such an enjoyable evening of blues music at Heritage Park. After work, I joined James, Nick and another friend from a meetup group. As Hillary and I discovered last year, Peter & Sharon are regular fixtures at this free summer concert series. (He sends his regards to you my love)

For me, this day punctuates more than any other so far the chasm between our experiences.
Hillary's View
My heart is heavy today.  Hopeful, but heavy.  Our group visited several different development projects where people's lives are being transformed - schools, micro-finance, health and education, skills training, etc. There is such good work being done by Kenyans among Kenyans.  We saw this rainbow as we left the second to last site, and it was as if God knew we needed a reminder of His promise before we arrived at the last site - the Nakuru dump.

I am still raw from what we saw there and don't have the words right now to explain, but it was a very real reminder of how very dark this world still is, and how unfair it can be.  I've been crying a lot today.
