Kevin's View
Saskatchewan's first geocache, Sask-Cache-One - a clever name I think. (I have now found the oldest in BC and SK, why not AB?) After a very short visit with Rachel, Nathan and the boys in Rosthern, Jason and I started to head for home, picking up special caches along the way. Thanks to Jason for putting up with my obsessive nature. Mind you, I was driving so how much choice did he have? :) One of the best surprises of the day was at the University of Saskatchewan when we were looking for the webcam. We walked through the geology building and stumbled upon a mini dinosaur museum! It has a stegosaurus, triceratops and T-Rex skeleton along with other interesting displays. That alone was worth the visit. After that it was a lot of rural roads before we got to Kindersley for the night. |
Hillary's View
Today some of our group went to church at Africa Inland Church (AIC) Crater, a very small, rural church up the same crater hill we drove up yesterday for our hike. We had to convince the Kenya Wildlife Service lady at the gate (it is a national park, so you have to pay admission) that we were dressed for church and not hiking before she let us through without having to pay, and after that, we received the warmest of welcomes at the church and were able to take in both Sunday school and the service. The church building is simple, but the view is spectacular - set among maize fields with a view over Nakuru town and lake. Though we didn't understand everything, it was such a blessing to get to worship with our Kenyan brothers and sisters. We get two more Sundays here, and I'm very much looking forward to it! |
